Samantha is an interior designer and entrepreneur, who has worked and lived in Europe, Asia, South America, and for the past 20 years has been living in New York City. Samantha's experience with varied careers, cultures and lifestyles provides her clients with a different approach to interior design - one that comes from a place of open-mindedness and practicality, as well as the fundamental principle that health, wellness and sustainability are vital to ensuring the long-lasting and positive impact of each project.
Samantha has degrees in both Business Administration (ICADE - Spain and Middlesex University - UK) and Interior Design (Parson's School of Design, NY).
Our name comes from the olive & mimosa trees of our founder's childhood in Mallorca, Spain.
The olive tree, with its strong, knotted trunk and roots, can live for more than 1000 years without much care - it needs just sun, well-draining soil and a little water to gives us olives, olive oil and eventually it's beautiful wood.
The mimosa tree (acacia dealbata) on the other hand, is a tree that relatively grows fast and doesn't live that long. It's purpose however is meaningful, often planted after a fire to help regenerate the area, to enrich the soil, and to also surprise with a winter bloom of beautiful and delicate yellow flowers, as if to brighten the spirits after a disaster.
The contrast of these two trees is stark, but it's in the balance and combination of the two, that we have found our guiding principles of creating both long-lasting environments that enhance our wellbeing and that of our planet, as well as offering spaces that are beautiful, simple and enticing.
